Does your CHP system qualify?
To qualify for Tier II AECs under Pennsylvania's AEPS, your CHP system must:
- Be located in Pennsylvania
- Produce measurable electricity output (kWh metered or calculated)
- Be certified through the PennAEPS program and registered in PJM-GATS
- Have been commissioned and operational (systems in service within the last 10 years may qualify retroactively)
Qualifying CHP technologies include: natural gas reciprocating engine CHP, gas turbine CHP, microturbine CHP, steam turbine CHP (with qualifying heat recovery), and fuel cell CHP systems with documented electricity output.
